About District

Mangan district is the largest of Sikkim’s six districts by area. The landscape is mountainous with dense vegetation to the alpine height before the southern tundra, before leaving the desert. Many waterfalls surrounded by the main road make visit to this district very beautiful.

Most of the people of the state reside near Mangan, the district headquarters which is about 2,000 feet (610 m) above sea level. District is divided in four Subdivisions named Mangan, Dzongu, Kabi and Chungthang.
