Copy of Final Electoral Roll 2026 of SIR for Mangan District handed over to representatives of political parties

Following the successful completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026 for the State of Sikkim, the copy of the Final Electoral Roll of all three Assembly Constituencies of Mangan District were handed over to the representatives of political parties by the District Collector cum District Election Officer, Mangan District, today. The brief programme was also attended by Joint Secretary, Election Department, Mangan, Mr Karma Sherpa.
In compliance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the Final Electoral Rolls 2026 for the State of Sikkim was published on 6th September, 2026, under the aegis of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim.
The SIR commenced on May 20, 2026, with the distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms, followed by hearings for electors whose names could not be mapped or who were found to have logical discrepancies. All claims and objections received during the revision process were duly disposed of in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
As per the SIR Summary Report, Mangan District had 32,305 electors before the revision, which has now been revised to 29,250 electors, recording an overall change of 9.46% (per cent) in the electoral roll.
A total of 9,156 hearings were conducted across the district during the revision exercise, while 152 voters were added through Form 6.
District Collector cum District Election Officer, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain, handed over the soft copy (QR Code) of the final electoral roll to the political party representatives present and also briefed them on the status of the Final Electoral Rolls of SIR 2026, and the outcome of the SIR exercise.
He thanked the representatives of the political parties for their active participation and support during the SIR exercise in the district.
The District Election Officer also put on record his appreciation for all the officers and staff engaged in the SIR exercise in the district and lauded their dedication and efficient handling of the important assignment.
