A full fledged Department of Sports & Youth Affairs was established on the 4th July 1995. This was an acknowledgement by the government of the importance of Sports and Youth programs in the development of our youth to promote physical fitness and through this to fight the menace of drugs, and to provide the facilities and exposure for the talented to excel.

Last day of 2nd District Level Athletics meet 2025 is being organized by Mangan District Athletics Association in collaboration with Sports & Youths Affairs and support by Sun Pharma Laboratories.

Nasha Mukt Sikkim. Freedom Run which was held on 03/08/24. Category: Under 15 girls open & boys including men’s open. 5km, marathon run. Starting from Mangan Nagar Panchayat till Pakshep View Point. And back to Mangan Nagar Panchayat. (Ending point)

Bharat Portal Training cum Basic Training of newly appointed staffs was held today i.e 22/08/24 at Mangan North Sikkim.

“National Sports Day” is celebrated annually on August 29th in India. This date marks the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of the most iconic figures in Indian sports history. On, this special occasion the first thing we did was ZUMBA, after zumba there was a marathon both (boys&girls category) from DC office to Mangan school turning & back from the school turning to DC office. After that there was a (footbal) friendly match between Sports department & Mangan Senior Secondary school staffs. Distribution of prizes and musical chair was played at the end of the program. Mangan/North Sikkim:26/01/2025 Closing of Winter Coaching Camp 2025 Ren,Pintso Namgyal Lepcha Hon’ble Minister for Forest and Environment Witnessed as a Chief Guest on Closing Ceremony of Winter Coaching Camp 2025 for Football,Archery and Tae-Kwondo held at Manga organized by Sports and Youths Affairs Deptt and North District Football Association. The Chief Guest was accompanied by SP Mangan cum President NDFA, Joint Director Sports and Youths Affairs,NDFA committee members,Coaches, Participants, Guardians.
